A female employee of Trinity Solar, located at 2180 5th Ave. #1, discovered a device plugged into the electrical outlet in the women’s bathroom that appeared to be a cell phone charger, police said. Upon further inspection, other employees realized it was a recording device, according to police.

Following an investigation, Fifth Squad detectives determined the device was placed in the bathroom by Michael Evans, who was employed at the business at the time. A Search Warrant was executed on Friday, April 26 at Evans' home, located on Valkyr Road, where he was arrested at approximately 4:50 p.m., police said.

Evans recorded the victims between March 7 and March 14. Evans left the company on April 1, according to police.

Evans, 32, was charged with 12 counts of unlawful surveillance in the second degree. He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, April 27.
